Restoring the Home of our Impact

The heart of our impact is in Old Town Mombasa, Kenya. Our buildings there have provided our artisans with a clean, safe working environment, been a home to their children's daycare while they are in the workshop, cultivated relationship with our larger community, and so much more.

After many years of operation in Old Town, it is time to improve these buildings for our artisans and community so that we can uphold our commitment to a clean space and safe working conditions, empower more individuals through dignified work in the community, and provide a welcoming environment to all who enter.

Commitment to community is one of our core pillars at Imani Collective. But for us, that community expands far beyond our collective, and into the larger community of Old Town itself.

Over the years, Imani has become more than a workplace for our artisans; it has become a home, a family, and a safe space for other community members. Through this restoration project, we desire to deepen our commitment to this community by investing in infrastructure that lasts, creating experiences that celebrate its vibrant culture, and bringing people together every step of the way.

In Old Town Mombasa, Imani Collective is known for a lot more than uplifting local artisans.
